KEY ACTIVE INGREDIENTS

Japanese Knotweed
Japanese knotweed (Fallopia japonica / Polygonum cuspidatum) extracts possess strong antioxidant properties, attributed to compounds like resveratrol, emodin, and polydatin (Cucu et al., 2021).
Over the last 20 years, there have been almost 200 studies evaluating resveratrol across multiple indications, with a benefit reported in two-thirds of cases (Brown et al., 2024). Resveratrol appears to consistently downregulate inflammatory markers, such as C-reactive protein and tumour necrosis factor-α, in some disease states, including metabolic syndrome and type 2 diabetic patients (Tabrizi et al., 2018; Hosseini et al. 2020). Resveratrol supplementation has also shown to significantly improve overall cognitive performance, menopausal symptoms, and measures of general well-being in postmenopausal women (Thaung Zaw et al., 2021).*

Effects of Resveratrol on Cognitive Performance, Mood and Cerebrovascular Function in Post-Menopausal Women; A 14-Week Randomised Placebo-Controlled Intervention Trial
Evans et al. Nutrients - January 3, 2017
Eighty post-menopausal women aged 45–85 years were randomised to take trans-resveratrol (75 mg twice daily) or placebo for 14 weeks. Significant improvements were observed in the performance of cognitive tasks in the domain of verbal memory (RAVLT, p= 0.041) and in overall cognitive performance (p= 0.020), suggesting a potential role for resveratrol in improving memory functions and supporting resveratrol supplementation as a potential strategy for attenuating premature cognitive decline in post-menopausal women.*
