KEY ACTIVE INGREDIENT

TURMERIC ROOT (Curcuma Longa)
Turmeric root extract is rich in curcuminoids, particularly curcumin, polyphenolic compounds that act as potent antioxidants and help modulate immune pathways throughout the body (Hewlings & Kalman, 2017). Systematic reviews and meta-analyses of randomized clinical trials further suggest that turmeric and curcumin supplementation can be effective adjuvants for musculoskeletal health, with improvements in joint discomfort, physical function, and markers of inflammation and muscle recovery, supporting joint comfort and everyday mobility (Doyle et al., 2023; Hewlings & Kalman, 2017). Additional randomized controlled trials in healthy adults show that bioavailable curcumin formulations can improve endothelial function, a key marker of cardiovascular health (Oliver et al., 2016). Curcumin also appears to exert meaningful neuroprotective effects by enhancing working memory, and overall cognitive scores in healthy adults, and other adult populations with pre‑existing health deficits (Francis et al., 2024).*

Black Pepper
Curcumin from turmeric is naturally poorly absorbed. Black pepper provides piperine, an alkaloid that helps increase its bioavailability and may enhance clinical effects. In healthy adults, a randomized crossover trial showed that adding turmeric and black pepper to a starchy breakfast lowered post‑meal blood sugar and reduced hunger while increasing feelings of fullness, without impairing gastrointestinal comfort, suggesting benefits for appetite regulation and glycemic control (Khan et al., 2024). In people with metabolic syndrome, an eight‑week double‑blind, placebo‑controlled trial using a curcuminoid–piperine combination significantly improved antioxidant status and reduced markers of oxidative stress and systemic inflammation compared with placebo, supporting cardiovascular and metabolic health (Panahi et al., 2015). Additional randomized trials in knee osteoarthritis report that formulations combining curcumin and black pepper extracts reduce joint pain, inflammatory markers, and the need for NSAIDs, indicating potential joint‑support benefits in clinical populations (Heidari‑Beni et al., 2020; Nasir et al., 2021).*
